Despite the size of this population, political parties continue to disregard immigration and migrant related issues in their manifestos.”Sign up for the weekly Limerick Post newsletter Sign Up “There has been a significant increase in awareness of refugee protection concerns and the scandal of Direct Provision among the general public too, and we hope that the next Government will take swift and effective action on these areas as a matter of priority.”Voter participation among new communities and other marginalised groups can often be very low, said Ms Roche. In an attempt to boost participation, Doras Luimní have been implementing a project that aims to increase voter registration and participation through targeted outreach and voting information sessions.“While many new citizens living in Limerick are well aware of the process, there are a growing number of new eligible electors that benefit from tailored information and assistance. Ireland has a complicated and unique election process, not helped by the usage of Irish language terminology in politics. For people with limited social networks and non-native English speakers, the process of registration and the election system itself can be challenging.”Over 300 people have registered to vote with Doras Luimní’s assistance over the past few months and are looking forward to participating in the election this Friday, February 26. Global FTTx Optical Access Infrastructure Market 2021-2025 – Transition For an All-packet Next-generation Network…

first_img Global FTTx Optical Access Infrastructure Market 2021-2025 – Transition For an All-packet Next-generation Network – ResearchAndMarkets.com WhatsApp By Digital AIM Web Support – February 16, 2021 Pinterest Twitter Twitter TAGS  Facebookcenter_img DUBLIN–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Feb 16, 2021– The “5G Powering the Global FTTx Optical Access Infrastructure Market, Forecast to 2025” report has been added to ResearchAndMarkets.com’s offering. This study highlights the market trends, drivers, challenges, and restraints for equipment vendors selling FTTx equipment to service providers. It also discusses many issues the service providers face in order to meet the demands of this market. A new generation of tech-savvy consumers is using many devices and services in their homes, including extensive web surfing, downloading and uploading videos and photos, messaging, and voice over IP. Current DSL bandwidths are not sufficient to handle these large applications. Beyond entertainment, there are a significant group of applications that can be used to make life better for consumers. For instance, many employees are working from home, which demands professional business communications and network access, with the required security that goes along with it. Research Scope The scope of the study is the fiber to the “X” (FTTx) market which comprises the various methods of connecting fiber optic cable and equipment between the central office and residential homes and apartment buildings. FTTx refers to that point in a network where the fiber stops and another technology, such as VDSL2+ (very digital subscriber line 2), with high-quality copper cable, takes over. There are methods currently used to place fiber in a network, and many technologies are being run over the network, such as passive optical networks (PON) and active optical networks (AON). Major Telco customers are choosing technology on the basis of available infrastructure and demand from residential customers. Research Highlights The study also explores growth opportunities for vendors in the FTTx global optical access infrastructure market and identifies potential business models. Wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) PON adds multiple wavelengths in the fiber to increase capacity in the access technology system. Although physically it is similar to time division multiplexing (TDM) based passive optical network (PON) technologies, logically it is a point-to-point scheme. Each optical network terminal (ONT) at the subscriber has a dedicated wavelength and there is no time sharing of bandwidth. The limit to the bandwidth that the user can receive depends on what the wavelength can carry. Fiber deep, 4G long-term evolution (LTE) plus, and FTTH fast are driving FTTx optical access infrastructure. A cornerstone of 5G, C-RAN, along with fiber-to-the-antenna (FTTA) and distributed antenna system (DAS) deployments is expected to grow at a parallel pace, driving front-haul deployments involving fiber. The three traffic profiles defined by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) for 5G services – high throughput, low energy, and low latency – are expected to put significant strain on the mobile front haul, generating a major fiber build-out to support the requirements from 5G services. This research sizes the market from the perspective of vendors (base year 2019) and forecast in terms of revenues from 2019 to 2025. The study also explores growth opportunities for vendors in the FTTx global optical access infrastructure market and identifies potential business models. Key Topics Covered: 1. Rich Hill less than perfect as Dodgers lose, 7-3, to Diamondbacks

first_imgPHOENIX >> The Dodgers might want to consider putting Rich Hill in bubble wrap until the playoffs.Hill’s blister wasn’t the issue that put him in harm’s way during Thursday’s 7-3 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks. It was Archie Bradley. The Diamondbacks right-hander threw inside at Hill when the Dodgers left-hander squared to bunt in the fifth inning. The pitch nearly hit Hill in the left hand on the bat as he dropped a bunt on the right side of the pitcher’s mound.Bradley fielded it and threw Hill out but an angry Hill had started shouting at Bradley even as he ran up the line. The two exchanged expletive-enhanced suggestions for the other to modify his behavior, prompting both benches and bullpens to empty – an extended process with September-swollen rosters on both sides of the field. The Dodgers have averaged fewer than three runs per game in the first seven games of this 10-game trip. Cooler heads prevailed and Hill struck out Bradley on four curveballs in the bottom half of the inning, extracting his revenge by tormenting Bradley rather than bruising him.An inning later, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts pulled Hill from a less-than-perfect game. Pitching on regular rest for the first time since July 7 with the Oakland A’s, Hill couldn’t continue the dominant run that started his time with the Dodgers. The left-hander gave up a solo home run to Kyle Jensen with two outs in the second inning, ending a 20-inning scoreless start to his Dodgers’ career and a streak of 27 consecutive batters retired (including his seven perfect innings in Miami on Saturday). It was also the first extra-base hit Hill has allowed in four starts for the Dodgers. The Diamondbacks chipped away at Hill for another run in the second inning on an RBI single by Chris Owings and in the sixth on an RBI single from Paul Goldschmidt that ended the left-hander’s night after 93 pitches and 5-1/3 innings. He watched as the Diamondbacks broke the game open with four more runs including Mitch Haniger’s three-run home run off Dodgers reliever Louis Coleman.Bradley kept both his temper and the Dodgers’ offense in check for most of the night. The Dodgers had just one run in the first six innings on Justin Turner’s RBI double in the fifth. They chased Bradley from the game and scored twice more in the seventh inning with back-to-back doubles by Andrew Toles and Chase Utley doing most of the damage.center_img Newsroom GuidelinesNews TipsContact UsReport an Errorlast_img read more
