Ajinkya Rahane confident India ready for ICC Champions Trophy

first_imgTeam India reached the United Kingdom on a high for the ICC Champions Trophy after a special screening of Sachin Tendulkar’s biopic ‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams’.The defending champions start their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on June 4 at Edgbaston and then play Sri Lanka on June 8 and South Africa on June 11 at the Oval.The team is currently practicing in Lord’s and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) caught up with Ajinkya Rahane for a little chat about their preparations ahead of the Champions Trophy.Rahane, who is coming off a decent Indian Premier League with 382 runs from 16 games for the Rising Pune Supergaint said that the mood in the team is good.”The mood has been really good. We had a fantastic first practice session at the Lord’s,” he saidMany young Indian players like Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Kedar Jadhav are touring England for the first time and Rahane said that they are relishing the opportunity to play at the Lord’s.”All the guys were looking forward to this practice session because many of them are playing for the first time in this ground,” the 29-year-old said.”You get such a great feeling when you’re playing in this ground.
